What are the differences? NOMEX HONEYCOMB is more rigid & firm whereas ARAMID HONEYCOMB is suitable for flexing and bending to complex shapes.

Did you know that ARAMID is more commonly known as KEVLAR ®?
KEVLAR ® is the patented name by DuPont ™ for their version of ARAMID, however many other chemical
companies such as Teijin and others that also manufacturer ARAMID materials.
ARAMID material is both light & strong - often used as protective clothing and worn by both Police & Military.
Due to the combination of being both light in weight and strong, ARAMID is an ideal solution for speaker cones.
CLARASONIC offers 1 type of ARAMID HONEYCOMB: SH-61 as well as stock ARAMID Fabric.

Did you know that Nomex is a fire resistant material that is often used in clothing by the Fire Department.
Nomex has excellent resilience against high temperatures and maintains its high strength.
Nomex is non conductive and sometimes used as a PCB substrate for electronics.
Nomex is used often in aircraft constructions such as jet aircraft wings and portions of the body.
Nomex is also suitable for architectural construction including use to build outdoor archs & complex shapes.
CLARASONIC offers 3 types of Nomex Honeycomb: SH-71, SH-81 and SH-91 densities.
SH-51 - ARAMID HONEYCOMB
SH-51 is our lowest density HONEYCOMB material made with ARAMID fiber.
SH-51 is light in weight and high in strength but is able to bend and curve to shape.
Ideally suited for sporting good products as well as speaker cones & similar applications.
SH-81 - NOMEX HONEYCOMB
SH-81 is our mid density NOMEX HONEYCOMB.
SH-81 is mid weight & mid strength. Material weight is heavier than SH-71 as well as much stronger.
Possible applications include marine watercraft, construction as well as speaker cones which can be formed to shape.
SH-71 - NOMEX HONEYCOMB
SH-71 is our lowest density NOMEX HONEYCOMB.
SH-71 is lightest weight NOMEX solution yet still quite strong.Similar to other NOMEX HONEYCOMB solutions, SH-71 is rigid and does not flex easily.
Possible applications are sporting good products as well as speaker cones which can be formed to shape.
SH-91 - NOMEX HONEYCOMB
SH-91 is our highest density NOMEX HONEYCOMB.
SH-91 is highest weight & highest strength.
Material is aerospace grade for max strength.
Possible applications include marine watercraft, architectural construction as well as speaker cones which can be formed to shape.
